The Sixth Annual Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards will return to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 2006. The Awards Committee is delighted to announce the formation of a unique new partnership between Sadler’s Wells, the Royal Opera House and the National Dance Awards which will see our ceremony alternating between Sadler’s Wells Theatre and the Royal Opera House for a six year period.
Building on the rapid success of The National Dance Awards, Britain’s two leading dance houses, which represent the best of both the contemporary and classical branches of the art form, suggested a three-way collaboration to further the cause of dance in Britain.
The Awards Committee warmly welcomes the initiative and imagination shown by Alistair Spalding, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Sadler’s Wells Theatre, and Tony Hall, Chief Executive of The Royal Opera House, in forging this exciting new association.
The Sixth Annual National Dance Awards will take place at noon in the Floral Hall, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, on Thursday 19 January, 2006. Further details on the Seventh Annual ceremony at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in 2007 will be released in due course.
