A senior principal with English National Ballet, the Georgian ballerina Elena Glurdjidze joined the company in 2002. She has distinguished herself in most of the major roles of the classical repertoire, including Aurora in "The Sleeping Beauty". She has been nominated for her performances in the title role of MacMillan’s "Manon", the Swan in Fokine’s "The Dying Swan" and as a sensual, sensational Zobeide in Fokine’s "Scheherazade"; the latter two performances forming part of ENB’s Ballets Russes programme at Sadler’s Wells.
