Richard Alston Dance Company
Richard Alston has been choreographing since 1968 and formed his present company in 1994. For the current repertoire he has taken early works which he has re-created as well as working on new choreography. Alston constantly pushes the boundaries, using a diverse range of music, and collaborating with contemporary composers to find new ways of creating dance works. His company has a large following and is one of the most interesting groups on the contemporary scene.

Bonachela Dance Company
Created and launched in 2006, the Bonachela Dance Company relies on and draws upon the artistically varied and eclectic approach to dance of its founder and director, former Rambert dancer and choreographer Rafael Bonachela. A multi awarded dance maker, Bonachela describes himself as a “dance junkie”, who keeps exploring the possibilities of generating new choreographic vocabularies especially through collaboration with artists from other fields.

Henri Oguike Dance Company
Henri Oguike started his own company in 1999 and quickly established a reputation as a choreographer with an astute ear for music. His strength is his ability to find bold theatrical colours within the pure abstraction of his dance. In 2007 he toured two new works: Little Red, to Vivaldi violin concertos, and Green in Blue, in collaboration with jazz saxophonist Iain Ballamy. Phoenix Dance Theatre also performed his Signal, a work inspired by his quixotic response to Japanese percussion.
