Deirdre Chapman
(Royal Ballet)
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Deirdre started her career with San Francisco Ballet where she danced for six years, reaching Soloist position. She then set off across the Atlantic to join Rambert Dance Company and was soon spotted for her speedy and exacting technique, and for her musicality. In 2002, she was offered a position as First Artist with the Royal Ballet but she was quickly promoted to Soloist. Her performances have shown her to be a sensitive lyrical dancer in the classics, while in the contemporary works, she has proved herself a fleet and conscientious performer.

Oxana Panchenko
(George Piper Dances)
The slick and trendy demands of the George Piper Dances company are a far cry from the pristine classical training that Ukrainian-born Oxana received at the Kiev Ballet School, and from the pure classics she danced both there and as a member of English National Ballet in the 90s. Discarding her tutu to join the razor-sharp, compelling pace of this popular small group of dancers, she confidently breaks boundaries and demonstrates risk-taking moves. In leotard and bare legs, Oxana dances a wide range of roles within the eclectic repertoire of Goerge Piper Dances. She was memorable in William Forsythe's Steptext

Desire Samaii
(Northern Ballet Theatre)
Desire, who comes from South Africa, joined Northern Ballet Theatre in January 2000. Since then she has offered carefully thought out and well presented performances with good dramatic input and technical assurance. She has a happy personality and that flows throughout her expressive dancing. She created the role of Eunice in A Streetcar named Desire, danced the title role in Madame Butterfly and recently performed Isabella in David Nixon's Wuthering Heights. She can be seen this season as Titania / Hippolyta in his new production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
