Colin Dunne
(Fabulous Beast)
A champion Irish dancer from the age of 9 to 22, Colin Dunne stepped into Riverdance in 1995 to replace Michael Flatley for three years. Since then, while giving master-classes in Irish dance around the world, he has transformed himself into a contemporary dancer and choreographer (with an MA from Limerick University). Witty and mocking, he anchored Fabulous Beast’s The Bull as narrator as well as flamboyant performer.

Dane Hurst
(Rambert Dance Company)
Born and brought up in South Africa, Dane won that country’s 2002 National Youth Dance Competition and a two-year scholarship to train at the Rambert School. He joined Rambert Dance Company in 2004 as an apprentice, and has since brought explosive and joyous attack to all his performances with the company, notably, last season, in André Gingras’s Anatomica 3. This is the second time Hurst, who is joining Phoenix Dance Company, has been nominated for this category in the National Dance Awards.

Ash Mukherjee
(Srishti and freelance)
A young dancer remarkable for his speed, precision and attack, Ash Mukherjee is currently a dancer with Srishti – Nina Rajarani Dance Creations – and was the central performer of both Quick (The Place Prize) and Quiet Please seen at The Place Theatre. Trained in the Bharatanatyam form of Indian dance in Calcutta, and in other forms of dance at London Studio Centre, he has previously performed in cross-cultural works for Mark Baldwin and Mavin Khoo.
