Savion Glover
America's most acclaimed tap dancer came to Britain in 2007 with a jazz concert. Savion Glover, who once made his name on Broadway as a heavy-hitting tapper, is these days more interested in proving that tap really is music and that his feet are every bit as much a part of the rhythm as the drum kit. His show at Sadler's Wells showcased his style, focusing on a torrent of complex cadences.

Jonathan Goddard
(Richard Alston Dance Company)
Jonathan Goddard is a charismatic dancer who knows how to capture the public’s attention. His electrifying performances in Alston's Devil in the Detail and Gypsy Mixture earned this nomination. Goddard, who hails from Hastings, studied ballet, jazz and musical theatre as a child and entered the Rambert School at 16. After touring with Scottish Dance Theatre, he joined Alston's troupe in 2002.

Ivan Putrov
(The Royal Ballet)
Kiev-born and trained Ivan Putrov made his mark in London early, when he briefly attended the Royal Ballet School in 1997. He joined the company in 1998 and was made a Principal in 2002. His exceptionally beautiful line, lightness, lyricism and expressiveness are seen not only in the classics but also in roles such as Balanchine's Prodigal Son and, last season, as Lensky in Cranko's Onegin and Pierrot in Tetley's Pierrot Lunaire.
