Harry Walker, tap dancer, is the winner of the Children's Award.
Eleven year old Harry is from Weston-Super-Mare and lost his right leg at birth, but that's not stopped him at all from getting distinctions in his tap dance exams. His hero is Dick Van Dyke and like his hero he wants to be a song and dance man when he grows up.
The Sunday Express is proud to support the National Dance Awards celebrating with their annual accolades the best in the cultural life of the nation.
The Sunday Express Children's Award, supported by the National Dance Awards, will reward by a public acknowledgement an outstanding example of high acheivement in dance in the face of exceptional difficulties of a family, social or financial nature.

Children, between the ages of 6 - 16, who can prove a regular dance class attendance can be recommended by a friend, teacher or relative to qualify for the National Dance Awards/Sunday Express Children’s prize. Recommendations must be received by The Sunday Express by Monday 15 December, including the child’s name, address and daytime telephone number. All entries must include the name and telephone number of the child’s dance teacher. The winner will be notified on Monday, 31 December.

The ceremony will take place at Sadler’s Wells Theatre on 13 January 2004.
The Award will be presented by the Editor at The National Dance Awards ceremony, a glittering lunch time reception packed with all the UK’s famous dance talent from Tamara Rojo, Thomas Edur and Agnes Oaks, Alina Cojocaru and Jonathan Cope to Rambert Dance, Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Notting Hill Carnival performers.
